About the Author

Jeff “Bluey” Lewis is an entrepreneur, writer, and life optimist. In 2025, he thru-hiked the 2,198.4-mile Appalachian Trail from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mount Katahdin in Maine, completing the journey in five months.

Before stepping onto the trail, Jeff spent more than 16 years building a career in nonprofit leadership and business strategy. He ultimately stepped away in pursuit of a life that felt more aligned with who he was becoming.

Jeff is the founder of Strategic Advisory LLC, where he works with nonprofit leaders and boards to strengthen organizations and expand their impact. When he’s not consulting or exploring his next business endeavor, he spends as much time outdoors as possible.

His trail name, Bluey, was given to him by an eight-year-old at an outfitter in Franklin, North Carolina.
